Daniel Pinkwater has been one of my favorite authors since I was in middle school. His novels, from Alan Mendelson, the Boy from Mars to The Worms of Kukumlima captured my imagination and basically summed up my feelings about being a weird kid. Curried Lentils with Kale

    After spending a week in the bay area at my parents' house, where it was cold enough to compell me to borrow a sweatshirt from my mom, I was happy to get back to Davis. It's been a weirdly cool summer both here and there, which is good for me since Davis temperatures usually get into the 100's during the summer. Blackberry Pie

    Now, I'm no masochist. As a general policy, I avoid pain as much as possible. But sometimes, the best things in life are made all the sweeter if you have to suffer a little to get them.

    I went on vacation in Greece a few weeks ago, which was wonderful.
